Vocario has no accounts. You never give us a name, an email address or a password, and there is nothing to log into. This policy describes the little that does leave your phone and why.
What stays on your device
Your decks, words, progress, review history and settings.
Your name, if you choose to enter one, so the app can address you.
Audio the app has already played, cached so it does not have to be fetched twice.
Pronunciation practice: your voice is analysed on the device and the recording is never uploaded.
What is sent to our server
When you generate words, chat, request a reading passage or hear a word spoken, the text needed for that request is sent to our server, which forwards it to the language and speech models that produce the result. We do not attach your identity to it, because we do not have one.
We also store, per device:
A random identifier, generated on your device, used to count usage against your trial or subscription. It is not derived from your phone, your Apple ID or any advertising identifier.
Counts of how much has been generated this month, and whether a subscription is active.
What we never collect
No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
No contacts, photos, location or health data.
No voice recordings.
Your learning content is never sold, shared or used to train anyone's models.
Who processes data on our behalf
Vercel — runs our server.
Upstash — stores the usage counters described above.
OpenRouter — routes requests to the language models that write words, chats and passages.
fal.ai — produces spoken audio from text.
RevenueCat and Apple — handle subscriptions and payment. We never see your card details.
How long it is kept
Usage counters expire automatically. Generated audio is cached for about two months so that a word already spoken for someone else does not have to be produced again. Everything on your device is removed when you delete the app or use Reset all progress.
Children
Vocario is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Because there is no account, the data we hold cannot be traced back to you by name. To have the usage record for your device deleted, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and the new version appears here.
